Installing Team-GIS License Components

Once you have completed the software installation it is necessary to install the Team-GIS licensing components. Team-GIS product can be configured in Standalone or Network  license modes.

 

       Installation for Standalone Licensing

 

Follow the steps below to install in Standalone mode:

 

1.Install your Team-GIS product on the client machine (see software installation section).
2.If you are not using a USB license dongle then skip forward to step 4.
3.If you are using a USB license dongle then you will also need to install the USB license dongle drivers:
a.Select ‘Install Team-GIS License Server‘ from the installation menu.
b.Select Next to begin the installation.
c.Select the ‘Client installation’ option and click ‘OK’.
d.Reboot your computer after installation so that it recognises the USB license dongle.
4.Next, generate a lock code and send it to support@exprodat.com, to enable Exprodat to create a license file.
5.When you receive the license file you need to add it to the configuration using Team-GIS License Manager.

 

       Installation for Network Licensing using Separate License Server

 

Follow the steps below to install in Network mode using a separate license server:

 

1.Install your Team-GIS product on each client machine or Citrix server that is to run the product (see software installation section).
2.On the machine that you wish to be your license server, select ‘Install Team-GIS License Server‘ from the install menu to install the license server components.
3.Select Next to begin the installation.
4.Select the ‘Server installation’ option and click ‘Next’.
5.Click ‘Next’ again
6.Click ‘Finish’, the installation will prompt for a reboot:
·If you are not using a USB license dongle in your licensing solution you do not need to reboot.
·If you are using a USB license dongle in your licensing solution then you need to reboot in order for the machine to recognise the USB license dongle. After reboot insert the USB license dongle into the server.
7.Next, generate a lock code and send it to support@exprodat.com, to enable Exprodat to create a license file.  
8.When you receive the license file you need to add it to the configuration using Team-GIS License Manager.

 

       Installation for Network Licensing using Single Server

 

Follow the steps below to install in Network mode using a single machine for hosting both the application and the license server (e.g. if you are installing on Citrix and don't wish to use a separate license server):

 

1.Having already installed the Team-GIS product on the machine (see software installation section), select ‘Install Team-GIS License Server‘ from the install menu to install the license server components.
2.Select Next to begin the installation.
3.Select the ‘Server installation’ option and click ‘Next’.
4.Click ‘Next’ again
5.Click ‘Finish’, the installation will prompt for a reboot:
·If you are not using a USB license dongle in your licensing solution you do not need to reboot.
·If you are using a USB license dongle in your licensing solution then you need to reboot in order for the machine to recognise the USB license dongle. After reboot insert the USB license dongle into the server.
6.Navigate in the registry to key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Exprodat\TeamGIS\Administrator" and add a new key "Lic_Server". Enter your machine name as the value for the "Lic_Server" key.
7.Next, generate a lock code and send it to support@exprodat.com, to enable Exprodat to create a license file.
8.When you receive the license file you need to add it to the configuration using Team-GIS License Manager.

 

       Team-GIS License Manager

 

Team-GIS License Manager provides the functionality to license this and other products in Exprodat Consulting Ltd.’s Team-GIS suite.  As a key component of any Team-GIS product installation it is installed into ‘<drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\Exprodat’ with a shortcut created in the Windows 'Start' menu.
