The Sentinel license service can be configured to capture license checkout information for Team-GIS and other Sentinel protected applications in a usage log file.

 

       Enable License Server Logging

 

To enable license server logging follow the process below:

 

1.Log-in to the license server.
2.Run Team-GIS License Manager from the Start menu (‘Start > All Programs > Exprodat >Team-GIS License Manager’).
3.If license logging is disabled you will see an option 'Enable Server Logging'. Click the green arrow button to the right of this.

4.Read the warnings about restarting the Sentinel service and click 'Yes'.

5.Specify a location and file name to save the log file to and click 'Save'.
6.You will receive a message indicating that license logging has been enabled.  Click 'OK'.

       License Server Log File Entries

 

Information is recorded in the log file one entry per line, using the following attributes:

Server-LFE

Internal code

License-LFE Developer

Internal code

Date

The date the entry was made, in the format:

Day-of-week Month Day Time (hh:mm:ss) Year

Time-stamp

The time stamp of the entry, according to the format set by the mktime C library call.

License name

Name of the license.

License version

Version of the license.

Capacity Flag

To show whether the licenses is a capacity license or a non-capacity license.

0: Non-capacity license
1: Non-pooled capacity license
2: Pooled capacity license

Capacity

Capacity per token for non-pooled license, capacity of license for a pooled license and for a non-capacity license.

Transaction

The transaction type.

0: Indicates an Issue
1: Denial
2: Return

License number

The number of licenses in use after the current request/release.

Keylife

The time, in seconds, that the license was issued.

User

you name of the application associated with the entry.

Host

The host name of the application associated with the entry.

License Service Version Number

The version of the Sentinel RMS license server.

Team Capacity

Team capacity issued against the request.

User Capacity

User capacity issued against the request.

Currency

The number of licenses handled during the transaction.

Comment

The text associated with the log_comment string passed in by LSRequest or LSRelease.

 

       Disable License Server Logging

 

To disable license server logging follow the process below:

 

1.Log-in to the license server.
2.Run Team-GIS License Manager from the Start menu (‘Start > All Programs > Exprodat >Team-GIS License Manager’).
3.If license logging is enabled you will see an option 'Disable Server Logging'. Click the green arrow button to the right of this.
